My name is Scott McCarthy. I was born in 1987 and have lived my entire life in Perth, Western Australia, the most isolated city on the planet.* However, since the age of twelve I have been travelling the world at the speed of light through the glass fibre cables that run across the continent beneath its deserts and forests and stretch around the globe under its mighty oceans. I have come to think of the nerves of Planet Earth as a magical other place which I’m proud to call my second home. Here I have met and learned from people from walks of life I could never have imagined. I have made friends, fallen in love and had my heart broken. This place brings me joy and sadness and hope, I love it just as much as my own beautiful city. From time to time I like to set aside a small piece of it to call my own, somewhere I can escape the crowds and be myself. Welcome, weary traveller to my humble apartment in the glorious City of Light. Take from me what you need, I have means enough to sustain myself in this place. Rest awhile in my company before you continue on your journey.

Before you go, here is a small gift. A few megabytes of love, made by two of my country’s many philosopher-poets, with a foreword by the incomparable Charlie Chaplin. Enjoy
